Dragon*Con Art Show - There is still space for schools to exhibit selected student art work. For more information on how your school can exhibit art work in this years art show please contact Artist Rob Brown, http://www.robbrownart.com/ , will be exhibiting and selling his original Dragon World paintings in the Dragon Con Art Show; his Dragon World book, calendars, and signed prints will be on sale in the Art Show Print Shop; and the artist in wizard attire offers how-to demonstrations and sage advice at the Dragon World booth. The artist paints his flying dragons from life, as they ride the thermals outside his cliff-top workshop in the San Bernardinos. Rob is currently planning an ambitious program of caving expeditions to study underground dragons. Rob will be having book signings at his table in the art show. Meet the legendary Darrell K Sweet in this years art show Artist Darrell Sweet is probably best known for his cover art for Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time book series but Darrells work goes far beyond that. Influenced by JRR Tolkien, Darrell Sweet has produced some of the greatest fantasy work of the 20th century. Darrell will also serve on the art awards jury this year. Come explore the dark and mysterious mind of artist Gris Grimly Gris will also serve on the art awards jury this year. This will be a fast paced event showing original fashions and one of a kind wearable art. The participating artists will be attending the show so you can meet the artists and designers. The works are not costumes but are real wearable items that could be worn on a regular basis. Many of these items will be for sale in the art show. The Digital Illusions area will be located in the center of the main art show room (Imperial Nallroom). Once again the art show has sold out of professional and amateur exhibit space. We want to thank all the artists that applied to be in this years show. We will be posting the list of participating artists in this years show very soon. Currently, we will have student work from The Savannah College of Art and Design, Kennesaw State University, The Art Institute of Atlanta, and the Art Place. This years Dragon*Con Art Show artist project invites you to watch our artist make art with time. Each participating artist will be presented the movement of a battery operated wall clock and a circular `face' approximately 9" in diameter. The artist can use any means to decorate the face, even discard our face and create your own original idea. Participating artists will have approximately 24 hours to complete their masterpiece. Legendary artist Darrell Sweet, who has created mant of the covers for the Wheel of Time books, will judge these works. Enter the Dragon World of Rob Brown A lifelong student of dragons, Rob Brown is as much concerned with the study of dragon behavior as he is with their physical forms. In Dragon World, Rob unveils his latest series of 68 dragon paintings, in which he documents the activities of underground, airborne, and marine dragons in their natural habitats. Rob came to the mountains of Southern California from the Pacific Ocean, on which he floated for nine years in the merchant marine, all the while studying the habits and migrations of sea dragons. Capture your costuming experience in a photograph and matching background So you've spent all that time and money to put together a great costume. How can you possibly make the experience any better? Easy! With Digital Illusions you can have your picture taken in your costume then you can have that picture placed with a matching background of your choice! The final picture looks like you are in a movie or an alternate reality. DIgital Illusions will offer digitial portrait and group photography, enhanced with a fantasy or science fiction backgrounds. For this year they will have two photographers on staff to meet the expected demand. Over 90 backgrounds will be available.
