| Tblog - Art Gallery By Ann Jordan - Today, more men are concerned about their appearance then ever before. You don't have to be an artist or even hire one to bring yourself up-to-date. AVON has a whole line of skin care products for men too, and believe me, your woman will appreciate your added care. (P.S. There are quite a few men that sell AVON too!)
Teaching art at a young age helps your child express him/herself and utilizes the imaginary abilities every child has. If you have a website of your child's artwork, use the comment section to post the URL.
Choosing artwork for your home or office is really a matter of personal preference. However, you may also want to consider what type of message you want to portray to your visitors as they enter the room. If you're looking to create a warm and inviting, homey atmosphere, then pick something with warm colors, easy on the eyes and carries a theme of comfort. Sometimes you can create too comfortable an atmosphere in an office environment which can be counter-productive. Your focus should be more business related. Pick artwork that reflects interest but not distraction.
It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. I've been learning that more and more men are signing up with AVON to sell skin care and beauty products. Is this an expression of art? Creativity? Or, is this just a way to make money to them? I find it interesting.
It's almost like seeing a woman fishing for King Crabs. Not likely. But hey, these guys that sell AVON have got to be admired. Some are making big time money with it.
I believe that any creative thinker is a very good potential make-up artist and/or cosmetics seller. It's all in how you look at it.
One time, I was chatting on PalTalk and a man asked me if I could help him put on makeup using his live camera over the Internet. Is this commonplace? Is this the direction we're heading? I think it's great that men are selling AVON, but putting on make-up might be a little extreme. Of course, AVON has skin care for men and I'm sure they don't care who they're selling make-up to. As long as it sells.
Would a woman buy make-up from a man who approaches her with it? Probably. I don't think there'd be any hesitation really. Although when people approach my husband at work for an AVON brochure, they always ask him if he's the one selling. I have my information on the side of our car but they see him getting in and out of it more then me so they have to wonder.
Anyhow, he'd probably do really well selling it directly.
If you're a man, would you sell AVON? How desparate would you have to be to own your own business or make some extra cash before you'd consider it? Or do you just have creativity and art on your mind? Post your comments.

About Art Gallery by Ann Jordan Greetings fellow artists! My name is Ann and I started artgallery.tblog.com because I love art. Art is a great way to express one's self. My art background ranges from drawing and painting to designing floral arrangements and quilted wreaths. In this blog, I will try and cover a wide variety of art forms. Feel free to submit your comments at any time about any art related topic. If you'd like to link to a photo gallery, you may do so in the comments section or if you need greater exposure, email the link to me and upon approval, I will add it to my sidebar of other great art sites. Much of my art gallery will contain talk about make-up because it's something I'm into, but I will cover other art related subjects if you keep on reading. I would like to add pictures and photos of really cool art from around the world to start a regular online art gallery, but I'll leave that up to you and your submissions. Before and after makeovers will be accepted too along with modeling photos. This site gets a lot of hits, so write me with your comments. Enjoy reading!

Makeover Madness

Makeover Madness
by Ann Jordan
The latest craze has been to "go under the knife" and get cosmetic surgery. Well, I'm sorry but I refuse to fix something that ain't broke. My solution is to take care of what God gave me and to do that I use skin care products, make-up, perfume and all those old fashioned makeover solutions. Not to mention, eating healthy, exercising and living a happy, stress-free life can do wonders for my appearance too.

Men Looking Good
by Ann Jordan
I've seen many men who are great artists, but a lot of them are not interested in make-up. Instead, they like to utilize their skills by dressing up cars (ex. Pimp My Ride) or makeover homes (ex. Extreme Home Makeover). This is great! We need guys for this kind of stuff and women love it.

The Art of Being Beautiful

The Art of Being Beautiful
by Ann Jordan
My husband thinks I'm pretty, but I know better. I'm average at best. What is beautiful though? Is it something on the outside? Is it something on the inside? Is it our character? Is it our background? Is it our personality? Some people think it's looking like a Hollywood star, a popular R&B singer, or even a supermodel. Some people will do anything to achieve the look of a popular person. What do you think is beautiful? Can an unattractive person learn the art of being beautiful without going under the knife? Post your comments.

Color by Number
by Ann Jordan
Maybe it's my age, I don't know, but putting on less make-up is definately the way to go. I started wearing make-up when I was in grade 5. My mother sold AVON and she allowed me to start wearing cheek blush at that time. When I started high school, I started wearing eye make-up. My big colors back then were black eye liner and mascara, purple eye shadows and maybe some clear lip gloss. I had no eye brows (still don't) and my lips were very chapped most of the time. I have very dry skin and hair. Today, I focus more on my eye brows, lip lining and filling in with color, earthy tones for eye color with maybe a touch of gold and very little, if any, eye liner. I'm happier with the results and I know I've gotten a lot more compliments on how I look now then I did when I was a kid. I've let my hair grow out to a good length but I'm still not all that happy with it. I'm trying to get it at least to the middle of my back, but it's just past the shoulders right now. I have dry hair, as I mentioned before, and I like to straighten it. It looks much smoother and shinier when I take the time to straighten it. It helps to blow dry it first but I don't do that very often as it dries out my hair even more.
This morning I took the time to color my hair. I have about 3 different shades that creep in when I let it go for a few months. It looks good now.
To be a make-up artist, you have to have an eye for what looks good on a person. I think this is skill that can be learned through trial and error. I have fun with it and I know there's a lot of women out there that also enjoy make-up and helping their friends achieve the look they want. It helps to know someone with a little experience. What are your favorite colors?

Kids with Crayons
by Ann Jordan
When introducing crayons to kids, it's a good idea to use washable crayons and a smooth surfaced washable coloring book. It is also a good idea to use continuous supervision and make your child stay in one place when using crayons so they don't get the idea to go around and color things they aren't supposed to.

Cookie Jars and Cake Decorators

Do you cook with design? Are you a creative cake decorator? Post your links to your online art galleries here or post a link to your business site in the comments section of this post to let the world see your work!
I took some cake decorating classes in 4-H when I was a kid. I didn't do too well. I don't know why I can do some art but not others. It's kind of weird. Some people think when you're an artist, you can do any kind of art. Not true. I'm terrible with straight lines, lettering and drawing people. I'm better at drawing landscapes, animals and putting on make-up. I'm also good at designing small things, like jewelry boxes or decorative ornaments. Another one of my talents is designing basic websites and display advertising. Mostly, I enjoy interior decorating. You can read more about that coming up.

Interior Decorating
by Ann Jordan
This is probably my favorite art topic to talk about. I love organizing my home and making it look the best possible. Kind of hard though on my meager income. However, I do have a certain taste in decorating that I hope to achieve one day. I'm kind of tossed between modern, contemporary and with a Spanish or southwestern twist. If you could design my home, what would it look like? My husband is in school for architecture, I'm sure he'll design us a lovely home someday, but it's hard for me to explain to him exactly what I like. We watch a lot of home decorating and makeover shows together and usually our taste is pretty similiar. The only difference is, he likes a more Asian feel. Should be interesting when we finally do build our dream home. It might look a little unique, that's for sure!
We both like a very open floor plan so you can see practically throughout the entire home on the lower level. Mostly, it's important to us to have contact with each other between the living room and kitchen, as I am in the kitchen most of the time, and he is in the living room. I'd like to see the TV so we could watch together while I cook. My husband is also a pretty big fan of those center room fireplaces which can be seen on all sides, or at least two sides.
My dream home would consist of beautiful landscape views, city or country, and a huge master bedroom with a huge bathroom and walk-in closets. Tons of drawers and mirrors. I'd probably put a lot of cool looking plants in that area of the house too.
What do you think? What's your dream home look like?
I've been looking for pictures on the web that kind of describe the outer look that I'm after. If I find a real good one, I'll post a link to it in my comments section sometime.
Feel free to post yours too!

Bible Art

Bible Art
by Ann Jordan
I was watching the Christian channel on TV this morning and they were talking about Biblical history. Much of the pictures shown on the screen were very old drawings of Biblical characters but most all of it was drawn in 2D form. It was pretty interesting to look at how people used to draw back then. It was like they had no concept of how to draw 3 dimentional. There were 1 or 2 pictures of landscaping that had more shadowing and the look of depth, but most all other drawings looked like something you'd see hanging on the walls of a grade school. According to the show, it appeared that Paul was probably the most educated person in the New Testament as far as his writings go. I suppose education, or lack thereof, may have a lot to do with the drawings of the past.
